A leaf-like thing

“They sure did a sloppy job of putting together this leaf, hahaha,” was my initial reaction. But then I thought if the center part lined up more precisely, would it be more leaf-like? It probably would not make a difference. On the contrary, this flaw adds a strangely natural quality to it. Maybe all of the leaves manufactured in this factory are flawed one way or another. They could very well be consistent in their inconsistency. Technology allows me to live in a “better world” that is cleaner, safer, efficient, and more convenient. But this introduces a stronger sense of overall control with less wiggle room. This leaf-like thing reminded me of the inevitable flaws of being human and the need to embrace and even enjoy our imperfections.
